ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA - CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT
The citizenship-by-investment program of Antigua and Barbuda was launched in 2014. Antigua and Barbuda is an independent Commonwealth state in the Eastern Caribbean since 1981. Antigua is Spanish for “ancient” and barbuda is Spanish for “bearded”. The economic citizenship program allows applicants to obtain a second citizenship between 6-12 months. Holders of the passport enjoy visa-free travel to countries including Schengen Zone and the United Kingdom. Applicants can qualify for citizenship through investment by making a contribution to the National Development Fund or by investing in government-approved real estate.

OPTIONS FOR THE CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM:
The National Development Fund (NDF) – CONTRIBUTION
Acquisition of citizenship under the NDF investment option requires a contribution to the National Development Fund in the minimum sum of USD 230,000 per application. The contribution is in the form of a one-time payment.
REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT
To qualify for citizenship under the real estate option, the government requires applicants to make an investment in designated approved real estate with a value of at least USD 300,000 and can be re-sold after 5 years.
